Who we are
BuildWise is an AI-powered construction estimation platform for contractors. BuildWise is operated by its founding team, based in Israel. For any questions about this policy, contact us at hello@buildwise.one.
What data we collect
We collect three categories of data:
Contractor account data, which you provide when you sign up:
- Name, email address, phone number
- Company name, service area, country
- Business configuration: services offered, pricing, material options, add-ons
- Optional: custom branding (logo, brand color) for Pro subscribers
Client conversation data, which clients of the contractor provide when they interact with the contractor's public quote page:
- Client name, email, phone number
- Project description, project type, size, location
- Photos the client chooses to upload
- Chat message history with the AI agent
Payment and billing data that the contractor records when a job is paid:
- Payment method (cash, bank transfer, card, check, other), amount, date
- Optional contractor-written notes (e.g., check number, transfer reference)
- Receipt delivery records (which email address a receipt was sent to, when)
- Subscription billing is handled by Stripe — we store only the subscription status and Stripe customer ID, never card numbers or CVV
How we use Google account data
BuildWise requests two Google Calendar scopes:
calendar.readonly— when a client books an appointment through the contractor's AI agent, the agent reads the contractor's calendar free/busy windows to offer only genuinely-available slots. This read access is used solely for the agent's availability-check tool. We do not store or share calendar events.calendar.events— after the client confirms an appointment time, the agent creates the event on the contractor's primary calendar with the client's name, the appointment type, and a BuildWise reference. We do not read, modify, or delete any other events on the calendar.
BuildWise's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we use your data
Contractor account data and client conversation data are used strictly to operate BuildWise for you:
- Generate estimates, send receipts, track leads, book appointments
- Power the AI agent conversations with your clients
- Deliver transactional emails and SMS notifications
- Provide customer support when you ask us a question
We do NOT:
- Sell your data or your clients' data to third parties
- Use your data to train AI models
- Share your data for advertising or analytics purposes
- Access individual contractor accounts except when you explicitly ask for support
Third-party services we use
BuildWise uses a small number of vetted vendors to operate:
- Convex — backend database and file storage for your data
- Anthropic — Claude AI model for chat, estimation, and photo analysis. We do not grant Anthropic a license to train on your data.
- Stripe — subscription billing. Stripe stores your payment method; we do not.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (receipt emails, notifications)
- Twilio — SMS notifications to your clients
- Google — OAuth authentication and calendar integration (see above)
- Vercel — application hosting and edge network
Each vendor is contractually bound to use your data only to provide their service to BuildWise. None has independent access to your business data.
Data retention and deletion
- Your account data is retained as long as you have an active BuildWise account.
- You can request account deletion at any time by contacting hello@buildwise.one. On request we permanently delete your account, your conversations, your receipts, and your business configuration within 30 days.
- Backup copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to 60 additional days as part of standard database snapshots before full erasure.
- Client conversation data is owned by the contractor. Clients who wish to request deletion of their personal data should contact the contractor they interacted with; the contractor can initiate deletion on their behalf or contact us directly.
How we protect your data
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest in our vendors' storage
- Authentication uses industry-standard session cookies over HTTPS
- API routes enforce per-contractor access isolation — no contractor can access another contractor's data
- User-supplied strings flowing into AI prompts are wrapped and escaped to prevent prompt-injection attacks
- We conduct periodic security audits and address vulnerabilities promptly
Cookies
BuildWise uses essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site analytics.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Request export of your data in a machine-readable format
- Object to processing or request restriction

Children's data
BuildWise is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data to us, contact hello@buildwise.one and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version at this URL and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be announced via email to active contractor accounts.
